Princess Basma bint Talal of Jordan is the only daughter of the late King Talal I bin Abdullah  and Queen Zain Al-Sharaf Talal of Jordan, the Sister of the late King Hussien I of Jordan and the paternal Aunt to the current King of Jordan, HM King Abdullah II. HRH Princess Basma is considered as the Princess Royal of Jordan.

Basma was educated at Ahliyyah School in Amman, then in England at Benenden School (where she was a friend of Princess Anne) and Oxford University, where she read Modern Languages. In 2001, she was awarded a DPhil degree by Oxford University for a thesis entitled Contextualising development in Jordan: the arena of donors, state and NGOs.

Rania Yasin was born on August 31, 1970, in Kuwait to Palestinian parents. A doctor’s daughter, she grew up in a comfortable home on the West Bank alongside her two siblings. She received a thoroughly Western education, first at the New English School in Kuwait City and then at the American University in Cairo, where she graduated with a business degree. In 1991 she moved to Amman, where her parents had settled after fleeing Kuwait along with hundreds of thousands of other Palestinians following the 1991 Gulf War. After a brief stint with international company Citibank, Rania took on a marketing position with Apple Computers. Then, a chance outing with a new co-worker to a dinner party hosted by Prince Abdullah’s sister in January 1993 changed Rania’s life forever.

It was there that the future queen first laid eyes on her prince. When their eyes met across the room, it was love at first sight and they were married just five months later.Rania never expected to be queen, however. Although Abdullah II was the late King Hussein’s eldest son, his father changed the line of succession in favour of Abdullah’s uncle when the boy was just three years old. On his deathbed in 1999, however, King Hussein unexpectedly named his son his successor. Despite the unexpected change in her circumstances, the young queen has taken to her role and is now known as much for her progressive social and economic agenda as for her supermodel good looks. She has promoted the creation of child abuse counselling centres “There wasn’t even terminology for child abuse when I got involved,” she says and fought to end the controversial “honour killings”, murders committed by men punishing sisters or daughters who have “dishonoured” their family, often by violating social traditions.

The Queen Rania currently heads the Higher National Committee of the Declaration of Amman the Arab Cultural Capital 2002. She heads the Higher National Committee of the Jordan Song Festival, and also annually lends her patronage to the Jordanian Festival for the Arab Child Song. In tribute to His Majesty the Late King Hussein, and on the first anniversary of his passing away, Queen Rania produced ?The King?s Gift?–a children?s book about the Late King. Proceeds of the book go to the benefit of underprivileged children across Jordan.

She is also Honorary President of the Arab Academy for Banking and Financial Sciences (AABFS), a pioneering institute in the region offering technical and academic training in banking and financial services. And is also Honorary President of the Arab Women Labor Affairs Committee of the Arab Labor Organization. She is President of the Jordan Society for Organ Donation and the Jordan Cancer Society. On July 12, 2001, Queen Rania was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws (LLD) degree from the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom. She is fluent in Arabic and English, and has a working knowledge of French. . She also makes sure there is plenty of quality time with her four children: Prince Hussein, Princess Iman, Princess Salma and Prince Hashem. “I make it a point and find comfort in tucking them into bed at night, reading them their favourite bedtime stories and reciting verses from the Koran to them as they sleep,” says this true woman of the new millennium.

Aiza Jasmine has sent her photo from Australia. Aiza writes in her email that she belongs to Jordan and has come to Australia for studies. Aiza is specializing in computer sciences. This Jordan girl is really impressed by the Australian study system. Aiza tells that Study in Australia is uniquely different and helps a student usher into a creative, innovative and independently thinking professional. Australia is the destination for third largest numbers of English-speaking international students after US and UK. For the students of various countries, Australia is the most preferred destination. Aiza more writes that Australian education system is constituted in such a manner that quality has to be its inherent part. For international students, it is firmly committed to provide quality education and training. The most significant feature of Australian education policy for the international students is that it has enacted legislation to guarantee the regulation for providing education services.

Aiza tells that she has founded that Australian universities are really supportive and helpful with International students. Students from the other countries are given every kind of support in the Australian continent by means of law as well as human relations. Eliza has joined us from Amman, Jordan. Eliza has sent her photo through email. This cute Jordan girl is high school student loves watching movies, reading historical books and travel around the Jordan. Eliza writes in her email that her beloved country Jordan is counted in Arab world; Jordan shares its border with Iran, Iraq and Syria. Jordan is also known as Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, since it is still a monarchy. Most of this country is covered with arid deserts. Eliza says that for tourists visiting Jordan, the place has much to offer, in terms of sights and monuments. Numerous deserts, waterfalls, cultural sights are all what makes this place so popular. These are five things that one must see while on their vacations to Jordan.

Eliza more writes that her favorite place is Karak castle. Karak castle is one of the few historical buildings that still stands tall in Jordan. The castle dominates the town, and was where plenty of famous battles took place in this part of the world. This Jordan girl tells that Spain is a very popular tourist destination; this is mainly due to the attractions of its two largest cities – Madrid and Barcelona. Spain is also extremely popular because of its excellent climate – hot and sunny in summer and warm even in winter with most days enjoying clear blue skies. Alima more writes in her email that we stayed in one of the luxurious hotels of Barcelona. Five star hotels in Barcelona are the most luxurious standard of hotel possible and of course the most expensive. Expect the highest standards of service and quality. Most five star hotels in Barcelona will have additional health facilities such as health and spa centres.

In the end she says that if you are planning to visit Spain you should reserve your room in advance because looking for hotel accommodation in Spain you may have a problem finding a hotel room so do make your reservation as early as possible.
