Rabiah tells that Damascus is very beautiful city particularly the Damascus citadel is the only fortress but it does not have a hill which other forts and citadels generally have. The interior of the citadel had houses, schools, baths and all other things which a city generally has. In fact it is considered as a city within the city. The souqs are also a point of attraction for the tourists here. There are many souqs like souq al hamidiyeh, souq middhat basha and so on.

Rabiah more tells that there are some land marks which are of tourist interest in the new city as well. The national museum is one of the landmarks which tourists must visit while on a trip to Syria. It is recognized as one of the finest in the world. Visitors can see many pre-historic items from various ages of the Syrian civilization.

Maymunah has sent her photo from Aleppo.  Maymunah is high school student. Photo was taken when she was standing in Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo. Maymunah writes in her email that the Great Mosque or Umayyad Mosque of Aleppo, was built on the site of a former Roman temple and Byzantine cathedral built by St. Helen (mother of Constantine the Great). The mosque was founded by the Umayyad Caliph al Walid in 715 and completed by his successor Caliph Suleiman. The mosque is arranged around a vast courtyard that connects to different areas of the mosque that are placed behind the colonnaded arcade. The courtyard is famous for its black and white stone pavement that forms complex geometric patterns. The courtyard holds the two ablutions fountains.   Maymunah uses internet at daily basis and wants to make some likeminded online friends.

Damascus University consists of 14 faculties of literature and human sciences, education, economics, law, agriculture, Islamic Sahria’a, pharmacy, medicine, dentistry, civil engineering, fine arts, architecture, mechanic engineering, and the Higher Institute of Administrative Development. Damascus University is one of four universities currently operating in Syria. Jamilah wants to do post graduation from Damascus University and this is first year in the university.

Zada Hossain Exploring The History Of Aleppo

She writes in her email that Aleppo is a charming city in northern Syria recognized for being one of the 4 Syrian sites on the UNESCO’s world Heritage list. Located at the crossroads of several trade routes from the 2nd millennium B.C., and considered one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, Aleppo was ruled successively by the Hittites, Assyrians, Arabs, Mongols, Mamelukes and Ottomans. For out world tourists Zada tells that being one of the oldest cities in the world the various tourist attractions in Aleppo comprises of many archeological sites. The Great Mosque, St. Simeons Basilica and the Citadel on the Hill are some of the major places of interests in the city.

Zada more writes that if we look back in the history of Aleppo, which will really amaze us. One of the most important historical Facts about Aleppo is that the city was under human settlement from as far as 5000 B.C. The Amorite dynasty was one of the first rulers of the place and it lost its dominance around 1600 B.C. From thereon in the city has undergone many phases of transformation from one rule to the other, which came in the form of Assyrian, Greek and Persian rule. For shopping lovers Zada tells that there are many traditional and modern markets in Aleppo, which are an essential part of Aleppo Tours.
